Frequently Asked Questions
General
Can I connect multiple Shopify stores to a single Etsy shop using the app?
Short Answer:
- No, one Shopify store can be connected to only one Etsy shop
💡 Why is this limitation there?
- The app maintains a 1:1 connection between Shopify and Etsy
- Allowing multiple Shopify stores to connect to one Etsy shop would create conflicts
- Orders received from Etsy could be duplicated across multiple Shopify stores
- This would lead to incorrect order management and fulfillment issues
🚫 What is not supported?
- Connecting multiple Shopify stores to a single Etsy shop
- Sharing one Etsy shop across different Shopify stores within the app
✅ What should you do instead?
- Use one dedicated Shopify store for your Etsy integration
- Manage all Etsy-related products and orders within that single store
⚠️ Important Notes
- Each connection is isolated to ensure accurate syncing
- This prevents duplicate orders, inventory mismatches, and data conflicts
🧭 Best Practice
- Keep one Shopify store linked to one Etsy shop
- Centralize your Etsy operations within that store for smooth management
- Avoid multi-store connections to prevent sync and order issues

Which kinds of items are most popular on Etsy?
Personalized & Custom Items
Custom jewelry (nameplate necklaces, birthstone rings, engraved bracelets, etc.) remains among Etsy’s most popular items.
Custom home décor and gifts — e.g. personalized wall art, custom signs, bespoke décor pieces for homes.
Handmade & Artisanal Jewelry
Artisan-crafted necklaces, earrings, gemstone jewellery, minimalist or boho-style designs are highly in demand.
Buyers continue to value handmade authenticity — something mass-market retailers rarely offer.
Home Décor & Living Products
Handmade home décor: wall art, pottery, vintage-style décor, handmade planters, rustic/retro furnishings.
cozy items like handmade candles, blankets, textured pillows, and décor that give homes a personal or vintage feel.
DIY & Craft Supplies / Kits
Craft kits (like embroidery, knitting, pottery, resin molds) and supplies — for customers who want to create themselves — are seeing strong demand.
Digital downloads/art supplies: printable art, design templates, digital planners — which appeal to buyers wanting creative control or passive-income sellers.
Vintage & Retro Goods / Collectibles
Vintage clothes, retro furniture, antique décor, nostalgic items — buyers seeking unique or nostalgic style often head to Etsy.
One-off collectible items and vintage-style finds that can’t be replicated — giving Etsy a niche that big retailers don’t cater to.
Niche Fashion & Handmade Apparel / AccessoriesSmall-batch, handmade clothing items, boho or cottage-core fashion, custom accessories, and handcrafted bags — especially for buyers who want uniqueness over mass-produced clothes.
Onboarding
How do I connect my Shopify store to Etsy?
To connect your store, first install the app from the Shopify App Store. After installation, the app will guide you through simple onboarding steps to connect your Etsy account. Just follow the on-screen instructions and the connection will be set up automatically.
If you want to connect a different Etsy shop later, go to Settings → Etsy Configuration inside the app and click the Reconnect Etsy button. Follow the instructions, and your new Etsy shop will be connected.
Products
Can I merge multiple Shopify products into a single Etsy listing with variations (without changing them in Shopify)?
Short Answer:
- No, this is not possible in the app
💡 Why is this limitation there?
- Each Shopify product has a unique product ID
- The app maps one Shopify product to one Etsy listing
- Merging multiple products into one listing would break this mapping structure
- This ensures accurate syncing of inventory, pricing, and updates
🚫 What is not supported?
- Combining multiple Shopify products into one Etsy listing
- Automatically converting separate products into variations on Etsy
- Maintaining separate Shopify products while merging them on Etsy
✅ What can you do instead?
- Create a single product in Shopify with variants (size, color, etc.)
- Then publish that product to Etsy as a variation listing
⚠️ Important Notes
- Variations on Etsy can only come from variants within a single Shopify product
- Separate Shopify products will always be treated as separate Etsy listings
- Mapping is strictly 1 product = 1 Etsy listing
🧭 Best Practice
- Structure products as variants in Shopify if you want them as variations on Etsy
- Plan product structure before syncing to avoid rework
- Use the app mapping logic to maintain consistent data across platforms
Profiles
What exactly is a Profile, and what makes profiling important?
Etsy requires several mandatory details for every product
You must provide information like who made the item, when it was made, category, shipping template, return policy, and processing time. Without these, Etsy won’t allow product publishing.
Entering these details manually for each product is time‑consuming
If you have 10 products with similar attributes, you would normally need to enter the same information 10 different times on each product’s edit page.
Profiles help you apply common rules to multiple products at once
By creating a Profile, you can set all required Etsy details once and apply them automatically to all assigned products.
You can group products automatically using rules
With conditions like product_type = clothing or vendor = Nike, all matching products are auto‑assigned to the profile — no manual work needed.
Profiles ensure consistency and reduce errors
All products under the profile follow the same settings, reducing the chance of missing or incorrect data that may cause Etsy listing rejection.
Updating becomes easier
If you want to change shipping, pricing rules, or category mapping later, updating the Profile instantly updates all assigned products.
Is there any limit on how many profiles I can create?
Yes, you can create multiple profiles to manage different sets of product rules such as category, “who made it,” “when it was made,” return policy, processing time, and shipping templates.
Each product can have only one profile assigned at a time, ensuring that its Etsy listing details remain consistent and conflict‑free.
Most sellers typically use up to 10 profiles, helping them organize products by vendor, product type, or other grouping rules.
Creating multiple profiles makes management easier, especially if you sell different product categories that require different Etsy settings.
Using profiles saves time because you no longer need to manually enter the same information for every product—profiles apply your settings automatically.
How can I set a profile for individual products or groups of products?
Update Product Selection Rules (Automatic Assignment)
Go to the Profile Edit page.
Modify the Product Selection Rules (for example: product_type = Clothing or vendor = Nike).
Any products that match these updated rules will be automatically added to the profile.
Assign Profile Manually from the Product Grid (Bulk or Individual)
Open the Products grid inside the app.
Select the items you want to assign a profile to (one, many, or all).
Click Bulk Action → Assign Profile and press Submit.
A popup will appear asking you to choose the profile name.
Select the desired profile and confirm.
The selected profile will now be assigned to all chosen products.
Can I assign multiple templates of the same type (e.g., multiple shipping or multiple policy templates) within a single profile?
Short Answer:
No, only one template per type can be assigned in a profile.💡 Why is this limitation there?
- Each profile is designed to maintain consistent settings for a group of products
- Allowing multiple templates of the same type (e.g., 2 shipping templates) would create conflicts during sync
- It would be unclear which template should apply to the listing
- This ensures accurate and predictable Etsy listing behavior
✅ What should you do if products have different suppliers?
If your products require different templates, you have two options:
Option 1: Create Multiple Profiles (Recommended)
- Create separate profiles based on supplier or requirement
- Example: Profile A for Supplier 1, Profile B for Supplier 2
- Assign products to the relevant profile in bulk
Option 2: Assign Templates at Product Level
- Edit products individually
- Assign required templates per product (one per type)
- Useful when only a few products are different
⚠️ Important Notes
- Only one template per type is allowed in a profile
- This includes shipping, policy, and processing/readiness templates
- You cannot assign multiple templates of the same type within a single profile
🧭 Best Practice
- Group products with similar requirements under one profile
- Use multiple profiles to handle different suppliers or rules
- This reduces manual effort and keeps your listings organized
Templates
How can I adjust or mark up product prices prior to uploading them to Etsy?
To increase/descrease your Etsy product prices before uploading, follow these steps:
Create a Price Template
Go to the Pricing section and create a new Price Template.
Choose your source price (Shopify sale price or compare-at price).
Enable Custom Pricing and set your desired increase (fixed or percentage).
Save the template.
Assign the Template
For bulk updates: assign the Price Template at the Profile level so it applies to all products under that profile.
For specific products: open the product’s edit page and select this template individually.
Publish to Etsy
Once the template is assigned, go to your product grid and publish the items to Etsy.
The price increase will be applied automatically during publishing.
Orders
Can I import my already completed (historical) Etsy orders into Shopify using the app?
Short Answer:
- Yes, you can sync historical and even completed Etsy orders into Shopify
⚙️ How can I do this?
- Go to the Orders page in the app
- Click on “Sync Orders” button
- A new page will open
🔄 Configure sync settings
- Select the option “Fetch by Date Range”
- Choose the “From Date” and “To Date” based on the orders you want to import
- Enable the checkbox “Include Processed Orders”
- This ensures completed or fulfilled Etsy orders are also included
▶️ Start syncing
- Click on “Sync Orders” button on bottom right corner.
- The app will start importing selected orders from Etsy to Shopify via App.
⚠️ Important Notes
- Make sure the correct date range is selected to avoid missing orders
- If “Include Processed Orders” is not enabled, completed orders will not be fetched
- Sync may take time depending on the number of orders
🧭 Best Practice
- Use date range filters carefully to avoid unnecessary imports
- Enable processed orders only when you need historical data in Shopify
- After setup, enable auto-sync to manage all future orders seamlessly
What happens if I exceed my order sync credits (sync limits)?
Short Answer:
- Once your sync credit limit is reached, further order syncing will stop
💡 Why does this happen?
- Each plan comes with a fixed number of order sync credits
- These credits control how many orders can be synced within your plan limits
- This ensures fair usage and system performance for all users
🚫 What will be affected?
- New Etsy orders will not sync to Shopify after the limit is reached
- Manual order sync will also be restricted
- Existing synced orders will remain unaffected
✅ What should you do next?
- Upgrade your plan to continue syncing orders
- Choose a plan that better fits your order volume
⚠️ Important Notes
- Sync will resume automatically after upgrading
- No existing data will be lost
- It’s recommended to upgrade before reaching the limit to avoid interruptions
🧭 Best Practice
- Monitor your sync credit usage regularly
- Select a plan based on your average monthly order volume
- Upgrade proactively during high sales periods to ensure smooth operations
Can I stop managing orders from the app and handle them directly on Etsy?
Short Answer:
- Yes, you can disable order management from the app and manage everything directly on Etsy
⚙️ How does this setting work?
- Go to the Setting -> Order management
- The setting name is “Import Etsy orders automatically”
- When enabled, orders from Etsy are automatically imported into Shopify via the app
🔄 When should you enable it?
- If you want a centralized order management system
- If you prefer handling fulfillment and tracking from Shopify
- If you want order status to sync back to Etsy automatically
🚫 When should you disable it?
- If you want to manage orders directly on Etsy
- If you prefer handling fulfillment, shipping, and updates from Etsy itself
- If you do not want orders to be imported into Shopify
⚠️ Important Notes
- Disabling this setting will stop new Etsy orders from syncing to Shopify
- Existing orders already imported will remain in Shopify
- Order status and tracking updates will not sync via the app when disabled
Why are Etsy customer shipping addresses missing in Shopify orders?
Due to policy changes introduced by Etsy on October 21, 2024, many third-party apps are no longer allowed to access Etsy buyer shipping details through the Etsy API.
As a result, Etsy orders may sync into Shopify without customer shipping addresses.
This limitation is imposed by Etsy and affects many Etsy integrations across the industry.
You can learn more from Etsy’s official announcement here:
Etsy Announcement on Third-Party Shipping ProvidersCan fulfillment and tracking updates still sync from Shopify back to Etsy?
In most cases, no.
Due to Etsy’s API restrictions, third-party apps may not be able to send shipment tracking information or fulfillment updates back to Etsy.
If fulfillment sync fails, we recommend manually marking the order as shipped directly inside your Etsy shop.
This behavior is caused by Etsy’s platform restrictions and is not specific to our app.
Does your app still import Etsy orders into Shopify?
Yes.
Your Etsy orders can still be imported into Shopify for centralized order management and workflow handling.
However, depending on Etsy account permissions and API access, some shipping-related information may be unavailable, including:
- buyer shipping address
- tracking details
- shipment status updates
What is OrderLens, and does your app support it?
OrderLens is a third-party Chrome extension that may help sellers extract Etsy buyer shipping details and existing fulfillment information.
Based on our testing, OrderLens currently allows:
- viewing Etsy buyer shipping details
- exporting order/shipping data via CSV
- accessing existing Etsy fulfillment information
However, OrderLens is:
- not built by our team
- not officially affiliated with our app
- an experimental workaround
- subject to change or breakage at any time
At this time, we do not officially guarantee compatibility or automated Shopify fulfillment syncing through OrderLens.

Chrome extension : OrderLensIs this issue caused by your app?
No.
This limitation is caused by Etsy’s API and policy changes related to shipping data access and shipment update permissions for third-party applications.
Many Etsy developers and integration platforms are currently affected by the same restriction.
